The Spectrum Resource Committee held another successful “Beyond The Spectrum” Conference and Resource Fair this last Saturday (May 9). It was very well attended and we had an enjoyable day, meeting so many families and professionals – some for the first time and some old friends! It provided a great opportunity for us to share what Play for Real Therapy Services has to offer.
Play for Real was one of about fifty vendors providing a wide variety of information and resources to the community. Several breakout sessions were held throughout the day, including a presentation by Lyn on an overview of the DIRFloortime model developed by Stanley Greenspan, M.D. and Serena Wieder, Ph.D.
In addition to all the useful information and resources available, there were also many fun and exciting activities and events for the children and their families. The silent auction rounded off a successful day, with an impressive array of wonderful items!
We would like to thank the Spectrum Resource Committee for all their hard work in setting up this very worthwhile event, along with co-sponsors Puzzle Box Academy, PALS and Autism Early Enrichment. In addition, we would like to thank all of the volunteers and representatives from the community who helped to make this such a successful day. Last but not least, we would also like to thank all of you who attended – it was so nice to meet you!
